I'm sorry, but "they took over the whole federal payments system, fired the career staff, and won't let anybody see what they're doing" is not a situation in which you wait for more information. It's a situation in which you assume the worst. There's no explanation for it other than rampant crimes.

Today, my students asked me what would happen to me if I were a teacher in a public school, and I told them I would probably be fired because I wouldn't stop teaching real history. The fact they were about to riot at the thought of that gave me strength.🗃️

I can't remember any other regime that live-streamed their minority roundups. Before anyone says that they are going after white undocumented immigrants, I ask that you show me a picture released by the Department of Defense showing shackled white people on a tarmac or filling a military plane.

My son is another year older! I am so proud of the man he is & that no matter the situation, his 1st instinct is to put the world to right. He makes the world a better place for all who are privileged to know him, and I am the most privileged to be his mom. Happy Birthday, my darling! I love you!

In prep to read @marthasjones.bsky.social's book Birthright Citizens, I watched this talk, which remains relevant to Trump 2.0, the Laiken Riley Act that allows immigrants to be held indefinitely based on nothing more than an accusation, and the EO attempting to negate birthright citizenship.
