The to-do list is crazy long today. And I need to get on it. Kept getting distracted yesterday. Not good. 😂

American public opinion is largely generated by foreigners who make money by lying to Americans over unregulated social media. Out of respect to those entrepreneurial foreigners, we will continue to treat their commodified fictions as one side of a reasoned American debate.

Gotta get on with my to-do list for this week. If I can get through the cleaning, I get to stuff my face and then up pretty decorations. Just gotta get through the cleaning. Which means I have to *start* the cleaning. *Sigh*

Dad put the Christmas lights up and I did some Christmas shopping while I watched my football team win big yesterday. So I guess we can have Christmas. Oh, wait, Thanksgiving is Thursday? Might want to get on that now. 😂

Have a great Sunday!

We’re going to have a lovely weekend weather-wise after a bleak week. Fantastic weather for the final Cyclones home game of the season (I sat through a couple in college that I look back on convinced I must have been insane) and for putting up the outdoor holiday decorations. Enjoy!

This is the odd time of year where the seasons overlap quite a bit because I’m knee deep in preparing for Thanksgiving while also buying Christmas supplies and organizing that stuff so I can hit the ground running with Christmas on Friday. Lists are my friend. 😂

Only 93%? For me, it’s like 99.9. 😂

Today is mostly going to be a make-some-lists day. The most important one being the grocery list for tonight since it will contain a lot of Thanksgiving-related stuff.

Not going to be a pleasant day outside. Good day to get caught up on stuff and get organized for next week. We’ll see if it happens. 😂

Waiting for a load of laundry to finish. Fell asleep earlier than usual last night but otherwise any side effects from Thursday seem to have passed quickly. Anyway, hope you all are enjoying your Saturdays.

Good news: Except for some arm soreness I feel pretty normal.
Bad news: No excuse to not do stuff today. 😂

Well so far I feel fine. *Fingers crossed* that continues.

After my post on vaccinating my children when they were babies, I got asked to have ‘nuanced’ convos with antivaxxers.

No.

I’m not platforming lies that led to the drop in vaccines, sick children with lifelong impacts and dead children.

Vaccines save lives and protect health.

Period.

Got my flu and Covid shots. Usually I just feel more tired than usual for a day or so. Hopefully that’s the case this year because we have two days of really good weather left and a lot to do outside. 😂

I want to very gently say something, and I hope nobody will be mad: If somebody on the internet says something that is NOT about politics and NOT about how terrible everything is, it’s a kindness not to reflexively make a comment (in jest or not) that brings it back to those things.

One of the things I think really helps @robsandia.bsky.social is that he consistently does his job as auditor well.

He doesn't do the culture war political stuff Breanna Bird does. He just finds misspent money and holds people accountable to Iowans.

I’m not sure if any of what’s happening right now will move the president’s support needle anymore (obviously the release matters, not saying that) but I will say that we took a road trip through some red parts of eastern IA this weekend for the first time in about a year

This is going to be very nuanced and very divisive. I hope you will do me the courtesy of reading the whole thing and digesting it before commenting.

Okay?

Good, here goes:

I think many people in our party misunderstand what a congressional leader is.
