Every chance you get, say “fuck you” to authoritarian demands. One of the regime’s tools is making people believe resistance is futile—that acquiescence is the only option. But especially for those with power and privilege, the most basic, necessary act is to say: FUCK YOU.

It would be great if we still weren’t fighting for these basic things in 20 freaking 25, but glad to see this bit of progress.

I think there is a legitimate sense that there never seems to be enough to go around to help Americans here at home. The problem isn't foreign aid, but I understand why billionaires like Elon Musk want you to think it is.

A few facts about USAID:

1. It's only .6% of the federal budget

2. Gutting its programs will cede American leadership abroad to China & Russia.

3. It's not up to an unelected billionaire to decide its future.

Only Congress has the power of the purse.
Musk on USAID: ‘Time for it to die’
His statement comes as signs increasingly point to the Trump administration folding the development aid agency into the State Department.

Cecile Richards died. Trump is set to start lighting the constitution on fire (again) in just over an hour. On MLK Day. This is some cosmic bullshit.

Let us please stop pretending Donald Trump understood everything his admin was doing at the time, much less now.
Today, defending Musk, Trump claimed he "always" has supported H1B Visas. But on June 22, 2020, Trump issued an executive action suspending H1B Visas because he said the program was taking jobs from American workers

Please arm yourself with knowledge. Birthright citizenship is not a policy choice it is a constitutional imperative (14th Amendment). It can no more be signed away by Executive Order than the First Amendment.
Now that attacking birthright citizenship has become a Day 1 project for the incoming Trump admin, I dug out this rather comprehensive piece I wrote in 2011. It includes the source of Sen. Lindsay Graham’s emergence as the pitch man on this issue. politicalresearch.org/2011/03/01/c...
