Just finished a “YA” book starring a 18, 19 and 20 year old. It dealt with trauma and toxic masculinity. It was interesting. I didn’t hate it. Understand why the characters had to be adults. But I am craving an authentic YA book for my teens.

I think a big reason that middle grade is struggling is that it tries, often unsuccessfully, to meet the needs of too wide an age range. Let’s let middle grade be unabashedly for 8-12 year olds and give us #youngteenlit for our 12-15 year olds #tlsky #mglit

This sounds lovely - my kids have wanted to see Steamboat Springs for a while now, so we’ll have to make this a part of our visit!
