As a K-5 teacher, I’m often reminding my college professor husband that the only kids who were mostly unaffected by the pandemic are in Kindergarten right now. College freshmen were finishing 7th grade when the lockdown started. Deeply disruptive and impactful.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

I feel bad for people with 20/20 vision because they’ll never know how great they look a little blurry. Best way to fit check is glasses OFF.

One year ago the company line was that students would need to “learn” how to use AI to be ready for the workforce. Now the only useful skill seems to be recognizing deceptive AI and/or knowing when not to use it. Great product.
one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

The summer before 6th grade I was assigned the Giver and I remember there being some hubbub amongst the conservative moms about if it was too intense for us. That made me, not much of a reader, absolutely fixated on the book. The book blew my mind and gave me my first real taste of rebellion.

Today my brother should be turning 52, but we lost him three months ago to alcoholism. In 8 short years he went from being a Scout leader, father and business owner to nearly homeless with advanced liver disease. Check in with the people you love and with yourself, help is available ♥️

A new, young and very earnest colleague told me she had an extremely negative post-observation with our boss and when she started crying he said “if that’s how your body processes negative information, do what you need to do” Psychotic behavior.
“He’s unflappable.” That’s good sometimes, I guess, but there are many times when it is appropriate to be flapped, and one should proceed to do just that.
