A couple of things to keep in mind re: Hamas/Israel deal:
1) It's focused on a ceasefire (incl. Gazan return to homes/humanitarian aid), Israeli hostage return, & Palestinian prisoner release. All positives.
2) It's not a "peace" deal
3) Annexation efforts accelerating in E. Jerusalem/West Bank

Interesting article on how rebels use narcotics (both directly and as finance), but the Taliban's approach was not uncommon.
