Hello EU legal scholars! The court has routinely struck down residency requirements for public housing. Denmark introduced a residency requirement for unemployment benefits in 2018. I can't figure out if this case is making its way through the courts. Tips? Or is UE insurance different from PH? 🙏

Well I foolishly promised it two months ago, so I had to write it... Behold my analysis of UK immigration policy and my attempt at coming up with some principles that could command public support. It's long (7,000) words because, well, this is complex stuff. So here's a thread... 1/n

And to follow up: I am trying to think through the difference between two actors: 1) one who sees fiscal stress as an exogenous constraint (i.e., "not enough money, so what's the point of taking action to support climate change mitigation, my preferred policy goal, I'll stay home") (1/2)
depends on beliefs about what others will do. You could have types:
- naive expressive: expected utility from each policy ignores reality about implementation, supports whatever has highest EU
- sophisticated expressive: EU from each policy considers reality, supports highest EU policy (cont'd)
