I am not quite sure how this works, but here's a free open source editable historical map that's pretty decent on medieval Europe.

#medievalsky Does anyone know (or, of where I find out!) who the drafters of med. Eng. legislation were? Not the individuals themselves, but whether it was the speaker, a cttee/cliques, random MPs? And how (if) they were chosen. E.g. G. Dodd's done a lot on drafting but not quite this specifically.

One of the less known aspects about the Easter Rising is that Indian students at UCD also took part & were then deported by the British authorities for it. Among those students was V.V. Giri who became president of India and said “when I am not an Indian, I am an Irishman”

@adamchapman.bsky.social Out of curiosity, do we ever still see the phrase 'I am grateful to [X body] for providing the research funds for this article', etc? Articles, not books or projects?

For today's #MosaicMonday a hilarious #Roman mosaic depicting a boisterous #dog knocking over a basket and pulling out the contents.

Life without #dogs is possible but pointless! 😊

On display at the Archaeological Museum Irbid/Jordan.

And for anyone who is interested, I did learn how to turn off gemini in google. Go to your mail settings. In the General Tab, scroll down to "Google Workspace smart features" and click on it, and then just turn off Gemini. It won’t ask you to let gemini summarize or write anything. #AcademicSky

11th-century heatwave advice, people 👍
okay and here is my ‘sounds like a shitpost but it’s genuine’ UK heatwave tip: if there is a Saxon or Norman church near you, and it’s open, go sit in it. not gothic, they have too many windows, get you some thick stone walls with some high up tiny windows. they stay cold. and you can just sit there

Please share, too!
