Ming Campbell was a dedicated public servant and a true Liberal giant.

His principled leadership opposing the Iraq War was a mark of his morality, courage and wisdom.

But more than that, he was an incredibly warm and caring friend and colleague.

We will miss him terribly.

I really enjoyed this @ezrakleinbot.bsky.social pod about Covid & MAHA, but one thing it repeatedly revealed is a habit of liberals that drives me crazy. A short 🧵.

Why the eff can't pundits or reporters say 'nuclear' properly anymore?

It used to only be George W Bush who couldn't.

Now it's everywhere.

This is oligarchy. This is obscene.

While 60% live paycheck to paycheck & kids go hungry, Jeff Bezos, worth $230 billion, goes to Venice on his $500 million yacht for a $20 million wedding & spends $5 million on a ring while his real tax rate is just 1.1%.

End this oligarchy.

I feel so fortunate that my first sustained aural imprint of the Beethoven and Schubert piano sonatas were through his recordings.

So rare to have a virtuoso at the highest level joined with a scholar's intellect for the music he played.

We were sorry to hear that legendary pianist Alfred Brendel has passed away at the age of 94.

Alfred Brendel made his Wigmore Hall debut in 1958, and gave many performances at the Hall, including programmes of Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert and more.

Our thoughts are with all who knew him.

A musical giant with the tenderest touch, the great pianist Alfred Brendel has sadly died, aged 94. His performances will blaze in memory; his recordings will inspire for generations to come. He received the RPS Gold Medal in 1992, presented by fellow recipient Yehudi Menuhin.

I’m going to pull my teeth out if the left tears itself apart over whether Pete or AOC would be a better candidate while Trump dismantles every single check on his power.

Let’s have the debate while deep down adoring both of them as insanely smart, principled politicians that we are lucky to have.
