Going to share a semi-regular gripe over euphemisms, this time “passed”. Saw a post talking about someone’s friend who passed, spent too long trying to work out what exactly they had passed until it clicked that they had died. Please, when I die, just say I died ok?

Today the Lords start the process of debating over 900 amendments (579 of which laid by just 7 peers) to the assisted dying Bill. As they do, lets hope they have people like Ed front of mind.

Saw the Bad Seeds do this live at Brixton when Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus came out.

It was excellent.
Nick Cave’s ‘Red Right Hand’ just came on a playlist. Shivers all through it. What an exquisitely-written song, so meticulously done. ‘Border fires’/‘humming wires’… the pairing of ‘barrio’ and ‘bowery’… ‘one microscopic cog in his catastrophic plan’… A literary masterpiece.

I've written a couple of things over the last days about how the government and much of Westminster remaining on X as the platform becomes increasingly toxic is having consequences for our politics...
Our politics is increasingly normalised to racism – because politicians are addicted to X
The platform has quietly dragged British politics into a dark place
