Wincheap ward by-election result Candidates, party representatives and council election staff were at Augustine House this morning for the Wincheap ward by-election count. The by-election was won by Green candidate, Peter Campbell. The full result was as follows: Peter Campbell (Green Party): 842 ELECTED Elliot Curryer (Conservative Party): 166 Jasmin Dallos-Foreman (Labour Party): 276 Guy Meurice (Liberal Democrats): 518 Colin Spooner (Reform UK): 351 This a Green gain from the Liberal Democrats. The turnout was 33.27%.

In a worrying turn of events, an Android update removed the comma key in favour of just the emoji key.

You can turn it back on though

The OP ain't wrong, while the US goes back to drilling oil, China has embraced the future of renewables.

The renewables sector is now driving a quarter of China's economic growth and it is by far the world's leading supplier of batteries, solar panels and electric vehicles. Short-term thinking. Oil and gas demand is set to peak by the end of this decade, as more renewable energy sources come online, and will decline to 45 per cent below today's level by 2050 if national climate pledges are kept.

But can I ask, have you looked into how assisted dying works in Oregon and what's your view on practice there? Hi David Thanks for getting in touch. I've looked more at Canada than at Oregon but I will look more closely at it. My big concern- and ours at @salvationarmyuk - is about societal pressures / disadvantage. We don't think they have been recognised by the promoters of the Bill. Replying to @andrewpconnell and @salvationarmyuk Please do, Oregon is much closer to the proposed Bill than Canada, which has much wider eligibility criteria. My own view is that assisted dying occurring behind closed doors as it does now, does not protect against coercion. So the Bill brings these issues out into the open.

Voter turnout in the Canterbury District averaging 36.7%, but with a fair amount of variation across wards.
The verification has now been completed here at the Canterbury district count for the Kent County Council election, and we can now confirm the turnouts for all eight KCC divisions in our patch. These were: Canterbury City North - 33% Canterbury City South - 31% Canterbury North - 42% Canterbury South - 42% Herne Bay East - 36% Herne Village and Sturry - 32% Whitstable East and Herne Bay West - 38% Whitstable West - 41% Overall turnout for the district - 36.7% Results to follow over the next few hours
