Max size 25 cm (10").

Arboreal.

Found in rainforests of New Caledonia and on the adjacent Isle of Pines.

Thought to be extinct in the wild but rediscovered in 1994.

Considered Vulnerable by the IUCN.

A Mossy Bug-eyed Frog (Theloderma corticale) from Cuc Phuong NP in northern Vietnam. This cutie was perched in a bush, right where a stream crossed the mountain trail we were hiking one night. Probably the highlight of my short stay in Vietnam. #frogfriday #frogs #herps
A treefrog clings to a branch, giving us a side profile. The frog has warts and bumps covering its body, head, and limbs. It has the flattened discs on the ends of its toes and fingers, typical of treefrogs and useful for climbing and clinging. The predominant color is a bright lime green, with darker purplish bands on the body, limbs, and toes. The eye is a dark green with yellowish-green reticulations.

To put things into perspective, here's a freshly hatched baby tokay next to a grown male. (if you're keeping track, this is George's dad and younger sister) 🦎
A young Tokay Gecko next to an adult one. They are both on a vertical surface with their heads facing down. The young one is very dark with white spots and a white striped tail, the adult is blue/grey with orange spots.
