What a wonderful thread full of creatives, the good will. ❤️
The comments are rich and beautiful. And the work is in so many forms and media. There must be something for everyone.

I'll take another look later when my family are not looking over my shoulder.

This really is something very special.
A great way to fight back against AI taking away work from creatives is to buy art by actual humans.

(Reply to this post with your own art/website etc. But only if you’re an organic life-form).

The thing I despise is inhumanity. It’s not really a political position, it’s an existential one. But if your political party manoeuvres itself into a place where it practises and promotes inhumanity, I will despise you.

Folks it pains me to ask so bluntly, but could anyone use some work doing by me? I've got to find income for three months until my next royalty payment, and I'm not having much luck.

Boris Johnson says the idea that criticism of the BBC is being organised by the right is ‘complete and utter bollocks’, which makes me think there might be something in it.

Hi all. My lovely new book, THE OTHER PEOPLE, is out now in paperback. The Times called it one of their Crime Novels of the Year and obviously I agree. If you'd like to read it, please do. I think you'd enjoy it. Sorry, but I may be banging on about this for a while.

There are many subtle and complex arguments one can have about the future of the BBC — but I guarantee you that no other channel or streaming service will be as committed to factual programming, children’s education, history shows, religious discussion, poetry, arts, or state of the nation debate

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

Rewatching this on iPlayer (even though I own it on BluRay - shut up) and it is always funnier, darker and more abstract and ambitious than I remember. It’s not perfect but it’s partly the imperfections that make it beautiful and unique.
Great news - one of the best mini-series ever with a dazzling & eccentric screenplay by Troy Kennedy Martin & superb direction by Martin Campbell is back on iplayer.
If you haven’t seen it then you’re in for a real treat.
Come for Bob Peck, stay for Joe Don Baker.

Edge of Darkness - Series 1: 1. Compassionate Leave
Thriller set in a world of obsessive state security. Ronald Craven is haunted by the murder of his daughter and begins his own investigation into her death.

Great series. And Peck so good.
Extraordinarily, he agreed to narrarte the first comedy pilot I ever made. The cast and I walked down the corridor of BH with him, in total awe. He said, in passing that he’d just got back from LA having made a film called Jurassic Park. “Don’t know if it’s any good”

OK, weekend mind.

My annual ask - there's a short story I remember about a nightmare world where the streets are patrolled by monsters and a man runs to safety - a dormitory where he falls asleep, and his dreams are what we call normal waking life.

Anyone know?
