Imagine bankrupting a super power in less than 2 years. Trump has mad skills

Maybe the US Congress could take a lesson, here.
Looks like the EU-US trade deal is now dead, with all three major groups in the EU Parliament calling at least for suspension. The downward spiral has already begun.

They are impeding law enforcement by making speeches.

The first amendment was nice, wasn't it? When was it repealed? I missed that.
Unvarnished thuggery
Breaking: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey are being investigated by the Trump DOJ for allegedly obstructing law enforcement activities, two U.S. officials told WCCO.

It's unclear how Walz and Frey allegedly obstructed law enforcement or what they were allegedly obstructing.

"January 6 was not legitimate political discourse."
Former Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn was on the front lines of January 6. Five years later, he warns the greatest threat isn’t just what happened—but the lies rewriting it. “January 6 was not legitimate political discourse.” Read his powerful piece: www.meidasplus.com/p/history-be...

Jack Smith: Trump’s FRAUD was not protected First Amendment speech.

Trump knowingly lied about the 2020 election in an attempt to overturn its result.

On Jack Smith deposition, now released:

100% obvious why GOP refused to allow this as open testimony, aired live. It's damning.

Testimony from John Dean or Alex ("wiretaps") Butterfield in Watergate days would have 1/10th the impact if just in print.

What Smith says is far more incriminating.

God this.
will also add - yes, this is my personal crusade - that turning podcasts into videos implicitly asks women to once again make more effort than men, as the bar for "camera-ready" for one gender is obviously higher than for the other
‘Painful to hear!’ How podcasts’ rush to video is turning them into dreadful listens

Mitt Romney said the quiet part out loud: the rich should pay more in taxes.
The Wall Street Journal attacked him for it.
But he’s right—and ignoring the math is how democracies crack.

Agree. Requiring that story include gov't response on the record = granting the gov't ability to "kill" any story. That's not news, that's gov't stenography; plain old propaganda.
Here’s a gift link to this stunner Washpost story, quoting the 60 Minutes correspondent on the CECOT story, who accuses Bari Weiss of spiking the piece all because the Trump Administration wouldn’t comment.

“Government silence is a statement, not a VETO.”

‘60 Minutes’ correspondent says CBS’s Bari Weiss abruptly pulled segment on Trump deportations
CBS News pulled a ‘60 Minutes’ segment about a prison in El Salvador one day before it was set to air because the Trump administration declined to participate.

@governor.ca.gov You were elected to specifically stop this kind of nonsense that Burgum is talking about here. Your constituents expect, and demand, that you do everything to stop this. C: @schiff.senate.gov @padilla.senate.gov @reptedlieu.bsky.social
Burgum: "We have an opportunity to take a strip of land right along the border [in CA], transfer it to the military for a 3 year period. Then, if someone crosses into our country, they're stepping on a military installation. That gives our troops down there more authority about detaining people."
