Confession - remembering to practice self-empathy
It has been a rough day, a rough month, a rough year! So today I'm going to practice that first step - being vulnerable (and as I always remind folks, it's about being vulnerable with yourself, you do...

We are witnessing a swift and sweeping consolidation of media (traditional and social) into the hands of a small number of billionaires who are actively aligned/aligning (both via free will and coercion) with Trump and his right wing political party. This is (I’ll say it) a fascist project.

When women aren't heard, their opinions ignored, their testimony dismissed, we end up with criminals and psychos like Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, RFK Jr, and Krasnov taking a wrecking ball to American institutions, sabotaging public agencies and dismantling our fragile democracy.

TRANS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS. and if compassion for humans is so fucking far for you to think about, know that stripping trans rights means your rights are next
The Republican-passed “big beautiful bill” takes away health insurance coverage from ALL transgender people, regardless of age.

The week after Harvard filed a lawsuit against Trump they: gutted their DEI office, stopped affinity graduations, centralized their disciplinary process over protests, and handed over student records of international students to DHS.

These were all demands by Trump. They're complying with all of it

So, they’re coming for judges now. Please keep talking to your friends, neighbors & colleagues about the actions being taken by/for the current administration. Talk about what democracy is & is not. Talk about the country we want and who we believe ourselves to be as a people. Courage is contagious.

The story of Trump is not the story of a dictator savant, it's the story of a society whose elite power centers are all rotted from within and collapse at the slightest push. Very hard to know right now if there are any load-bearing walls left.
conversely, the second you give in to him on anything, he senses weakness and keeps demanding more and more

the only viable response to Trump is to loudly and fully stand up to him from the start - whatever consequences he is able to impose will pale in comparison to giving in
Trump’s sputtering response to Harvard standing up to him is yet another reason why institutions should refuse to bend the knee. He’s a paper tiger, unable to argue his own case.

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.
