When families are impacted by civil immigration enforcement, we have a responsibility to make sure they are not facing it alone. Members of the Council and I are proposing $100,000 in emergency financial assistance be directed to Spokane Immigrant Rights Coalition's Community Justice Fund.

Happy to see Karla and Arnoldo are safe and back in Spokane. But, we cannot ignore the harm caused. Their detention was unnecessary and their family should never have been forced to navigate this fear.  www.spokesman.com/stories/2026...

Every day, street outreach teams, staff at our scattered site shelters & navigation center, & our law enforcement partners are working together toward the same goal. When we pull in the same direction & connect people to services, we make a real difference.

Border Patrol detained a 10-year-old Spokane child and her father. DHS keeps saying they are focused on criminals, but this family has no criminal history. It's time for Congress to step up and ensure some accountability.
