Trump repeatedly fell asleep during his criminal trial in New York last year. You may not have heard about it much because the media decided that Tim Walz retiring from the National Guard 20 years ago merited more prominent coverage

Cull the Democratic Party. Systematically chip away all the weak, corporate centrists and corrupt, gutless elected officials who refuse to fight and instead suck at the teat of the oligarchy.

like as much as this site is in a fit of justified anger over this, the GOP... does not actually win anything by fucking over insurance markets
if they don't fix Obamacare credits and/or fuck it by replacing it with HSAs, next year is going to be uhhhh a healthcare election
I still kinda think it’s going to be D+12 in a year because the orange god king is determined to to be a blansas sized political suicide bomber

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.

I can't believe what I'm reading dawg.

These absolute fools are giving Trump and the Republicans a lifeline for absolute jack shit.
Tentative Senate deal to end shutdown, multiple sources tell me & @frankthorp.bsky.social:

—CR through Jan 30
—Approps minibus
—Fully funds SNAP
—Reverses Trump’s shutdown RIFs
—Promise of Senate vote on ACA subsidies by Dec second week (details/outcome uncertain)

Basically: I think that people who are like 'eh it's not a bad deal' are also not understanding the current stakes of what Trump and co. are doing, and the cost of not using every piece of leverage you have.

SCOTUS, even this SCOTUS, would have a very hard time directly contradicting the congress asserting the power of the purse in a bipartisan fashion.
but like if we hold as "Trump will just break the law any ways" then no deal is worthwhile, no matter what it says?

The Great Khan has spoken.
This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

The centrists in the Senate Democratic caucus saw that the country was rallying to the party in the 2025 elections and resolved that they would do anything they could to kill that momentum.

CNN, CBS, others report that at least 8 Dems have reached a deal to end the shutdown

Saw the news about Dems being ready to cave on the shutdown and immediately started to doom spiral.

Incredible that THIS is how Dem leadership plans to respond after last week, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Buried in the Big Beautiful Bill were changes to food assistance that demanded “any future change be cost-neutral. Translation: no more benefit increases, even if food prices skyrocket.”

The result was “institutionalized hunger.”
