Too many children end up in hospital for things that could be managed in primary care. My project explores how bringing paediatricians into GP teams could change that - faster, specialised care closer to home.

Just had a really positive chat with Prof. Claire Fuller (NHS Co-Medical Director – Primary Care) about my vision for paediatrics in primary care. It's amazing what encouragement from leaders who believe in you can do for ambition & motivation.

I’m going to be a GP!

A far cry from the high octane prehospital simulation I used to love, I now can’t wait to settle into family medicine life. My new mission is to transform children’s healthcare across the UK, by bringing much of it out of hospitals. Bring it on!

This is why so many NHS resident doctors are fighting tooth-and-nail just to get into training for their preferred speciality - including myself. Unacceptably negligent workforce planning. #medsky

The GMC PA survey results (239pp) is very hard to digest. Is it too cynical to say intentionally so? Here's AI's summary about what the document says about doctors' views on PAs:

Heard from my girlfriend (who still checks 🦤) that IMT cut off scores could be 15/30 for interview this year?! She’s genuinely worried, yet one of the hardest working doctors I know. It’s outrageous.

My word of the day (and personal recommendation) is ‘snerdling’ (18th century): nestling cosily beneath the covers and holding off the day a little longer.

Some PassMedicine questions on De Quervain's (Subacute) Thyroiditis don't reflect my lived experience.

Here's what it's like to go hyper- then hypothyroid as a 31 year old medical student. #medsky

Thought I'd share the photography I'm most proud of - Humans of the Pandemic.

I photographed 67 staff at NHS George Eliot Hospital during the COVID19 first wave in 2020 - in wards, labs & offices with my underwater (cleanable) camera - and gathered their thoughts. humansofthepandemic.co.uk
