I just finished a three-year term as an editor at an international relations journal. I began at the start of the LLM era but ended right in the middle of it. Our volume of submissions tripled and our desk reject rate rose to 75%. I have some thoughts.

If politics are going crazy in several European countries one after the other, I think it is time to go past blaming the failures of individual political actors (and there are quite a few, both in the UK and France) to looking at the systemic pressures our political systems are failing to deal with.
If you are overly focused on the admittedly increasingly batsh*t character of British politics, don‘t neglect the batsh*t character of French politics.

Zusammen mit dem Monitoring-Bericht zur Energiewende hat Katherina Reiche in der letzten Woche einen Zehn-Punkte-Plan vorgestellt. Dieser weist sprachlich wie inhaltlich große Ähnlichkeiten zu einem Papier von RWE und Eon aus dem Frühjahr auf. Ein längerer Thread mit Links und Beispielen. (1/19)
