Star Trek is so woke nowadays. It's not like the old days, like the first season of The Next Generation, when in "Conspiracy" Picard states that Tryla Scott, a Black woman, is the best captain in Starfleet who broke Jim Kirk's record of becoming captain faster than anyone in history.

it really is baffling, if that was the intended arc for jayce it really did not land. he might have been distant? offscreen? but he dropped everything when he realized viktor was gonna die, and the first thing he did when heimer threatened to have viktor's research shut down was plot to unseat him
