If you choose to go out, you need more than vibes. You need a plan. This is about maximizing safety and impact. Not about looking brave on Instagram.

If you’re going out, your first job is coming home.

Some nights I can't get to sleep because I have no idea what the next thing I wake up to will be.

Be soft and kind to each other, be hard and mean to our enemies.

There is no saving this organization. There was never any saving this organization. Do not trust any politician who speaks of reform. These people should be in prison.

We must rely on each other.
Welcome to Minneapolis. Our neighbors have witnessed too many war crimes at this point. Federal agents even left weapons on the ground.

That’s it. We’re neighbors looking out for our neighbors. We do it when we shovel each other’s walks and push each other out of snowdrifts and we do it when there are snatch squads roaming the streets. It runs deep in Minneapolis: we all have to band together to survive the winters.
Many Americans are terrible neighbors to each other, and that is why MN is striking everyone as extraordinary activism... when they are telling us that it is not. They're good neighbors!

It's no wonder that "being a shitty neighbor" is the hallmark of our domestic politics and our foreign policy.

Like salmon swimming upstream to the pools from which they spawned, a British writer cannot resist writing a story about stories.

I need people to understand this. ICE is a baby organization, it's barely old enough to vote.

ICE DID NOT EXIST BEFORE 2003.

No one has to throw their eggs in this basket. It has been militarized, corrupt, and abusive since inception. There is nothing there to save. We can throw this away.
I wonder if ICE/CBP flooding Brooklyn and causing violent chaos would change Hakeem and Chuck’s views on funding those agencies. Knowing them, maybe not

Report it. Every avenue we have to hold a murderer accountable for his murdering. No grift for the boot.
There’s a GoFundMe for Jonathan Ross’s legal expenses for murdering Renee Good.

This violates GoFundMe’s Terms of Service. Everyone must report it.

A thread on how to do that 🧵

This was murder. This is fascism. You cannot trust the government or the media. Talk to your neighbors, build community, we only have eachother.

Cooking with friends is a superior hangout activity, stop making food ahead of time and make your food together.

The cycle of illness is: Sleep until you can't > Exhaust yourself doing mundane tasks, such as a single load of laundry > Drink water > Repeat.

I'm on a second load of laundry so I may pass out any second.

Sick as hell and drinking bad coffee so I can stay awake long enough to do laundry.

I joke I am a Connoisseur of Garbage, but a lot of "bad" media has redeeming qualities.

Understanding media lets you find those qualities, some exist despite the creator's intent, and that's interesting!

I would never eat nothing but Cheez-its, but sometimes nothing hits like a pile of trash.
"why would I waste my time with bad media"

so you can appreciate how good the good stuff actually is and how hard it is to make.

and also even the bad stuff can sometimes have an interesting idea, even if it is badly executed
