The same day Moody’s downgraded the U.S. credit rating, citing rising debt & exploding deficits, Republicans tried to ram through permanent tax cuts for billionaires, which would add $trillions more to the deficit.

For years, the right-wing outrage was that Obama's Iran deal didn't address their ballistic missile program or state sponsorship of terrorism. Those both seem to be off the table entirely for Trump.

Functionally, Trump's main "victory" is set to be that Obama's name isn't on it anymore.
It is amazing to watch Republicans try to defend Trump's Iran negotiations right now when it seems the resulting deal could be even weaker than the JCPOA.

60% of American households can’t afford a minimal quality of life.

Meanwhile, the 19 richest households saw their wealth increase by $1 trillion in 2024 — the biggest one-year increase ever.

Our problem isn't a lack of resources.

Our problem is ever-expanding inequality.

The Constitution doesn't explicitly mention emergency powers, but many scholars argue it's implied by the structure of the executive branch (and courts have generally been willing to consent to this).

But what happens when a president declares *everything* an emergency?
How Trump’s “Emergency” Powers Could Become Permanent
The president is declaring emergencies on everything from an “invasion” of immigrants to a mythical shortage of fossil fuel production. But it’s all just a ploy for him to act like a Roman emperor.

If Trump’s talking—he’s lying‼️

China’s President Xi is not talking to Trump, and there is no tariff deal. Expecting China to quickly fold was a huge miscalculation by Trump and he’s trying to cover it up.

China is in this for the long haul and Trump is negotiating with himself.
