My reaction every time I read that Netflix is doing another live action anime reboot.
My daughter went to see “THE LONG WALK” and I had to explain to her that we practically did this for real in the 1930s and to go watch this movie to understand what I mean.
It's amazing that such a harrowing film was an actual box-office hit. Probably would not even get a theatrical release if it came out today

Netflix has picked up a sequel to “A Different World” that will follow Whitley and Dwayne Wayne’s daughter at Hillman. Debbie Allen, who directed most of the original show, is an EP and will direct 3 episodes. Felicia Pride is the showrunner.

At a wedding rehearsal dinner in Texas last night. Was dragged into a one hour conversation with a drunk guy where I learned that actually discrimination has reversed since the 1950s and now it’s middle class white men who are the oppressed. And it’s not safe for anyone to walk in cities anymore. 🙄

A fun question. In 5 years time, what looks better? The US’s enormous bet & capex on AI? Or China’s equally enormous bet and capex on renewables?

There needs to be trials and there needs to be people sent to die in a prison cell. Consequences must fall on the people who issued the orders and those who carried them out. We must make the punishment of these people a national spectacle that will be remembered for generations.

This is because Netflix has a specific list of approved digital cameras and a specific production pipeline that ends up making everything look extremely same-y. Nothing else looks like a Netflix show, but every Netflix show looks like a Netflix show.
