Nelson's Victory crew included a Brazilian and a Russian, 2 Indians, 2 Swiss, 2 Portuguese, 3 Danes and 3 Norwegian sailors. There were 3 Germans, 4 Italians, 6 Swedes, 7 Dutchmen, 9 West Indians and an African, as well as 21 Americans, 63 Irish, 64 Scots, 441 English.... oh, and 3 French men, too.

The mainstream media has done almost nothing to prevent the rise of the Far Right - if anything they have facilitated it. It shows why in the past the press was unable to prevent the rise of the Nazis and why in the end they played such an important role in normalising its extremes.

Being accountable to an international court means our Government has to answer to them if it tries to undermine your human rights. Be very suspicious of any UK politician who wants to remove that check on their powers.

Reform accusing Labour of using inflammatory language is definitely a case of the pot calling the kettle black. #LabourConference

Republicans have mastered storytelling. Unless Democrats learn to fight on cultural ground, their policies will never matter…

Having realised that saving billions on welfare spending isn't going to be as easy as they thought - some bright spark in the Labour govt has come up with idea that it will be easier to save money by cutting spending on disabled children! Welcome to the start of Kier Starmer's next U-turn.

Wow! France gifted her to us, and now they’ve captured what so many Americans are feeling on Independence Day. The values the Statue of Liberty stood for are no more.

📌 A stunning mural of the Statue of Liberty covering her face was unveiled in Roubaix, France, on July 3, 2025.

Old Soviet joke:

A man goes to the newspaper stand every day, unfolds one, scans the front page, doesn't buy it, and leaves.

Vendor: Why do you do this every day?

Man: I’m looking for an obituary.

Vendor: Obituaries aren’t on the front page.

Man: The one I’m waiting for will be.

Cute kid. But judging by Trump's expression, this is a relationship that isn't going to last. The lesson Elon Musk can take from this is that Donald Trump is going to use him to do the messy stuff and then he'll get discarded.
You can tell a lot about a person by how they react to children—and even more by how they treat the ones suffering from hunger.

Hopefully the Tates will get locked up in Romania and then get locked up again in the UK when they get out. Maybe then all the young men who see them as role models will finally realise that being being a sexual predator isn't cool. www.theguardian.com/news/2025/ma...

Imitating Trump, Farage has committed to getting rid of equalities and inclusion jobs at the councils that Reform has taken over. This is going to have huge implications for disabled people and for children with special educational needs - the lawyers are going to be very busy.

Far right extremists, inspired by Trump per Whitmer herself, tried to kidnap her. Trump himself later suggested it was a fake plot and mocked it. He called her ‘that woman in Michigan’ and led a crowd that chanted ‘lock her up.’

Today Whitmer hugged him on the tarmac.

This is why Dems lose. 🤷🏽‍♂️👇🏽
