Oh hey, I have a ko-fi.

Mostly because when I make cutting boards or stuff like that, end up making double or triple because of how much material I end up getting, so this will let me sell extras.

I might throw up my dice vaults there, but we'll see.

Frankie had to get his belly shaved because he needed to do some testing, and it’s very important for you see it now.

As a cabinet maker, they often gloss over how incredibly difficult and time consuming it actually is to refinish these pieces. But scraping finish that comes off like butter is satisfying so they do numbers. (warning: it rarely ever works like that)
i love furniture restoration videos because they show how quality is important and you can get some really beautiful, overlooked furniture if you learn certain skills

Yeah, this is the actual issue. But standard va dst is an easy victim.
Proof that northerners’ real beef with standard time is the tilt of the earth’s axis and not the time change: it’s 5:30 in Georgia and it’s still light outside.

If this is what I have to do to get high speed rail between cities, and better subways and other transit related services for seniors, I'm all for it.
I know people think this is a joke, but I am of the full sincerity that we need to ban everyone over the age of 65 from having a drivers licence if we ever want a shot at having adequate public infrastructure in America.
We need to get old drivers off the roads. I’m a single issue voter at this point

NORAD Santa tracker is still the best thing to come from NORAD.

very specific to DC complaint here but when trump is threatening to take over the city's historically significant public golf courses so he can privatize them and make them another getaway for the 1% i don't think going "well maybe they shouldnt be golf courses to begin with" is helpful or realistic

Cloud storage for day to day use is a scam.
Gotta find a way to completely scrub OneDrive from my computer because I'm SICK of it making file explorer be so slow

I hate cloud storage sm. It's done nothing but be a nuisance for me

I kind of like this whole “We won’t buy your liquor but we will air your state-suppressed news stories” niche that Canada’s apparently carved out.

I know I’ve said a lot about this today. But you could make a literal bingo card about all the tropes about bullying in schools and every article like this would check all the boxes.
My no.1 tip for kids getting bullied. Document and go to the police.

The school administrators will not help you at all. We’ve seen the exact same response to bullying here in BC despite nearly 30 years of “zero tolerance” policies being place.

Adults in positions of trust lie constantly too apparently. You have to be willfully ignorant to not see bullying in schools.

The problem is that administrators are terrified of getting sued by parents of the bully.
the sheer contempt our society has for children is absolutely staggering. “kids lie constantly” is shit adults made up to justify never taking any meaningful action to support the children they so frequently claim to be protecting

Because if the police do something and it further escalates, as all bullying does, you’ve got some fantastic proof later on.

Hot take: photo spots where you’re supposed to get a group photo in very popular experiences, while produce a great photo, are absolutely garbage tier experience at the time without someone organizing it.

Hey not for nothing but that “no.1 movie when you were ten” meme is telling scammers your birth year.

not that the present economic picture is rosy, but i do think that popular culture — and specifically nostalgia bait television — is a big part of the reason that our public memory of the 1970s, 1980s and even 1990s seems to miss the real economic pain that marked each of those decades.

The HBC building in Vancouver is up for sale. The art gallery has more than enough saved up the moment to buy it and do a significant renovation. Preserve some Canadian history and have the gallery in a prime location. It’s a win win.

Hey can we talk about how it’s 13 degrees in Vancouver today, and that being seven degrees higher than the average for today?

It’s absurdly mild out there.

Arguably TTRPGs have seems a resurgence and saved the hobby since Acquisitions Inc and critical hit came on the scene.
"Theatre kids"? How behind are these people?! Gygax was calming the spooked wargamers about the "actors" who were "taking over the hobby" and how they "wouldn't ruin the game" back in 1978! The fact that people still think that roleplayers are a problem is mindboggling. BOGGLING. #TTRPG
I cannot express how pathetic you have to be to believe this happened in the TTRPG hobby in the last decade
