I've had a few folks already hit me up about commissions in light of everything going on.
Short answer, we'll see what happens, right now I don't really have the time to think about it.

November 11th is one of those days where I have an acute awareness of how warm the day has been over the past 30 years. This is definitely one of the warmest.

Because of the Arthur C. Clark quote about technology and magic.
Idk, it's actually a compelling story that a race that thought itself gods- immortal and omnipotent actually do age. The Q is no different than any other new life and civilizations.

A wealthy safe streets advocate could do the most good by paying a team of maybe a half dozen journalists to aggressively and comprehensively report every single traffic death in every major city. Depicting the horrifying human cost, FOIing PDs and DOTS, contextualizing it in policy choices, etc.

Like every year I am constantly blown away at the prizes crafters make for @desertbus.org
Go check them out- but also I made this- it’s very silly.

My hot take is politicians leaving their parties after getting elected is good for democracy. I don’t care if they go indie, cross the floor, or start a new party. Anything to drive home the fact we elect individuals, not parties, even if we don’t act like it

You don't know how inaccessible things are until you have to help an 82 year old navigate things like phones and TVs. I am radically becoming conservative on tech.

I’m disappointed to hear Commissioner Haer’s comments challenging the use of land acknowledgements. These acknowledgements are not performative to me. They are one small daily practice that flows from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and from the principles of UNDRIP.

So goodbye to the Kent Avenue upgrades ABC promised for next year- they had to come up with 1.2 million to complete the funding shortfall from the translink and province money for the project.
Because the province has specifically said you cannot cut the Police budget. #vanpoil

Some breaking news: in a special Vancouver Police Board meeting only announced over the weekend, the police board has requested a $50 million increase to their budget for 2026.
This comes as other departments across the city are trying to cut staff to ensure a property tax freeze for next year.

Honestly surprised that I c e isn’t getting its members to wear dark blue coats with hoodies to go with their rifles and calling themselves guardians.
I suppose we can we thank for the space force from stopping them from using that name.

@lennynanzhou.bsky.social Hi there Councillor
I was riding on the Rupert(and Kerr) bike lanes again, and while city crews have done the bare minimum, the lines for the bike lane are basically invisible at night. Drivers are driving on the bike lane lines and basically erasing them. #bikeyvr
