I’ve been repairing a Westsail 32 lately. It’s a 50 year old, 20,000# cruising sailboat that I’m restoring. I removed the bowsprit and the boomkin, and taken off the teak, cap rails and sanded the hull to deck joint clean. This area had slow leaks, which damaged the interior bulkheads.

Last major incident that I can recall in that area was way back in the day when bravo bravo was a nightclub around there.
worth noting that there have been no reported violent assaults w/a gun near 17th & I since 2018, and no homicides from 2008 on (the publicly available data only go back to 1/1/2008). This is not a dangerous area–there was no reason for them to be there. (data from crimecards.dc.gov/homicides:cr...)
one thing we *can* conclude at this point — those two national guards would not have been shot if trump had not abused his power to deploy them to DC
