I've been yapping about this for years. The whole rest of the world reads translated fiction on the regular. The Hugos *really* need this category.
Hello, Bluesky! This is a weird day to go live with this project, but: this is an initiative to add a Translated Speculative Fiction category to the Hugo Awards. If you are a fan of global SF, and want to put some more "World" in "Worldcon", check out our site! Lots more to come.

I've been lurking on an AI "writing" subreddit. Caught this gem yesterday.

And today I blog about "Unto the Godless What Little Remains" by @mariocoelho.bsky.social, an excellent cyberpunk-ish novella that definitely didn't get the attention it deserved. I had already read it, but it's always a pleasure to return to these pages. [blog in Portuguese]

Huge, huge respect to Samantha Mills.

The Hugos apparently excluding Chinese-language novels is even worse than the other censorship shenanigans. Really hammers home the idea that it's an award by Anglo authors, to Anglo authors. Anglocon, not Worldcon, I guess.

'Burn You the Fuck Alive' by B.R Yeager was as brilliant as I was expecting. Yeager writes the horror of the human body* like nobody else does, or dares to.

*Not to be confused with body horror, which there's also loads of here.

Just finished Unto the Godless What Little Remains by @mariocoelho.bsky.social and aside from a banger of a title, the story itself is sharp, sad, and full of foreboding about the present and the future. Highly recommend. I devoured it like a rogue AI starved for meaning.
