there is no such thing as "high functioning" or "low functioning", autism is a spectrum and one autistic person might not have the same experience with it as another. forcing these labels on autistic people is harmful and does not lead to anything good. How fucked up is it that to write any long story about a Black protagonist set after the year 1500 or so you have to include some mention of oppression or it's not gonna feel realistic.
Think about how exhausting it is to always have discrimination in the back (if you're lucky!) of your mind.

Gotta say it’s wild that every time Democrats win an election Republicans form an unbreakable bloc on every issue they prioritize but when Republicans win, Democrats go “oh yeah, mass deport, f the queers, defense of democracy what?”
