No 2 routes, styles, levels of productivity are the same, but I hope the overall picture is interesting & encouraging

I love a Penguin Clothbound Classic and have been slowly expanding my collection over the last few years. I'm also partial to a Virago Modern Classic. This is my favourite bookcase in the house to gaze at for obvious reasons then! 😁

Blows my mind that Tacitus’ Annals only survived thanks to a single manuscript. Or rather two. The only copy of the first half was saved in a monastery in Germany and the only copy of the second half was in Monte Cassino. That’s how fine the thread that links us to our history.

I’ve seen a few posts recently arguing whether audiobooks count as reading. For me, the important thing is people are able to access books in the way that best suits them, be it ebooks, audiobooks or physical books. Some people don’t get that access at all and we that do are the lucky ones.
