in solidarity with everyone who just got the NEA email, the one with a basic punctuation error in it. Let's all give ourselves a bit of grace today.

I love to call my Senators' offices three times per week and try to cajole them into doing the most elementary political messaging and strategy. This is what it means to be an engaged citizen: leaving a strenuously polite voicemail for a 74yo on a more regular cadence than I talk to my parents.

when I called my reps in MA yesterday they (or the aides who answered) hadn't heard about Khalil yet. Let 'em know. Let 'em know we know.
FWIW, NYC, I was the first person calling my US rep and state rep about this this morning. Please get on the phone and call your city councilperson, state rep, and state senator in particular; state and local reps can be VERY responsive if they get enough calls. reps.fyi

anyone else find the Queer Eye ep "Kiss the Sky" about the man caretaking for his brother pretty troublesome?

lots of brother-as-burden vibes, and the QE people come in and fix it with self care and makeover. nothing about how an entire social/state system has let these men down.
