I enjoy whiskey, correct punctuation, and proper grammar.

When I’m serious, I’m very serious. When I’m silly, I’m unstoppable.

My kid plans to turn me into a diamond when I die; I will sparkle FOREVER, which is great, bc “sparkly” is my favorite color.

I’m getting really tired of all this “gun-owners know they’re raising the risk” rhetoric.
I was at a protest in 2016 where a sniper started shooting at police, yet I spoke w a Black man who Dallas police managed to question w/o executing despite his having been carrying an assault rifle.
Leavitt: Any gun owner knows when you are carrying a weapon and are confronted by law enforcement, you are raising the assumption of risk and the risk of force being used against you.

I am sleeping so much better lately…thanks to the anemia that nothing seems to help.
But I can fall right to sleep and I can confirm that it is AMAZING, even if I wake up still tired.

Alright. Time to reset the simulation. This one has jumped the shark. Reset to mid-eighties or so.

Not satisfied with terrorising neighbourhoods and killing innocent women, they now want people to turn on their neighbours, just like the Nazis did. How long will America put up with this?

Sorry, they had to do a study to figure this out?
It’s corporations looking to make big money w few issues. Of COURSE they’re in places where it’s cheaper to buy & build, and of COURSE they’re saying it’ll create jobs. That’s how they get the permits to build these giant ecology-destroying centers🙄
"They found that hyperscale data center developers often choose to build in rural communities rather than urban locations, not to create jobs and increase a community's economy, but because of low costs and abundant land."

Data centers target rural communities for lower costs, not to create high-quality jobs, study finds
Local governments often tell residents that the power-hungry developments will bring numerous tech jobs to their communities. A new study contradicted that.

Fact: Trump is leaning into this fiction, as he does with all false claims of authority, because he is weak and lacks real power. The only way he could ever obstruct the midterms is if we—along with our lawmakers, governors, and state legislatures—choose to hand him that power out of cowardice.

I haven’t seen the Avengers: Doomsday trailers yet but I keep seeing comments about all the people coming back. I’m looking forward to the presumptive return of two of my favorite aliens:

What I really love movies at home is I can pause & think. Like the perpetual motion balls in a scene: how long will that actually keep going? What about wear & tear from the impacts?
Or: why are all the moons in the same phase on this planet?

I miss things in theaters bc I’m thinking.

Reminder that the bots and those who control them wouldn’t try so hard to keep you from voting if it didn’t matter. Your vote is your voice in government. Use it. Millions stay home rather than vote and the results speak for themselves. Go out & make your voices heard. In EVERY election.

Reminder that Gavin Newsom is for himself, not the people. In case you forgot his bad takes on trans rights or that he physically removed the property of homeless constituents w no help or alternate plan in place for them.
Nice to see a billionaire chipping in to oppose a requirement that he do so.

I know it’s not definitive and a lot of things include information that’s not in English, but the big green print I can make out on this thing is in Hebrew, which…might have been an additional clue.

I was in Oslo the same weekend Lizzo was performing there. I went to the Vigeland Sculpture Park to walk around one drizzly day. This huge group of people came in ~5 min later; I spent the whole time trying to avoid them all & enjoy the park. I later found out it was Lizzo and her group.
Please quote this with the time you didn’t interact with someone famous - eg one time I was in Cardiff the same weekend as Willem Dafoe (but I didn’t see him or even know he was there until he appeared on the telly later)
Please quote this with your major interactions with massive celebrities. eg “I was married to the pope for fifteen years”

Umm, this is a HUGE change. The focus of the screenshot is ballots but this is a big deal for legal correspondence, too. It matters for lawyers, for people trying to comply with or avoid being bound by contracts, & so many other issues! Y’all thought cancelling your gym membership was hard before!
Hey so this seems like something more people should be talking about 🤔 🗳️

A growing body of research indicates that Texas's restrictive abortion bans have negatively impacted the health and lives of Texas women and babies in multiple ways. Across the board, pregnancy outcomes and complications have worsened.
What researchers have discovered about maternal, infant health under Texas' abortion laws
In the more than four years since the state of Texas significantly restricted access to abortion, medical researchers have been studying the health effects of that policy change.

Peeps, you DO realize that our non-white friends and neighbors...are now carrying their birth certificates and passports so they can PROVE they are US citizens "just in case"?

There is NO version of America where this is OK. Defund ICE. Restore due process and rule of law.

I just learned about this accidental start to the Santa tracker and I’m in tears. It’s so sweet 🥹

It all started in 1955 with a misprint in a Colorado newspaper and a call to Col. Harry Shoup's secret military hotline. Shoup played along with the tiny voice who called, and a tradition was born.
