Is there a better representation of enshitification than Google pulling the American Psychological Association style guide on punctuating bulleted lists because I said -ai? Google used to be the best search engine. What if instead of AI destroying humanity, what it has really destroyed is machines?

I’m going to have to cut back on expenses so I can subscribe to every podcast so I never have to listen to another dogshit “synthetic voice.” Good job podcasters, bad job ad makers. Maybe pay voice actors so I don’t drop everything to hit the fast forward button so I don’t throw up 🤮

This is sort of the skeleton key to understanding a lot of shit: there 100% is a non-trivial amount of inefficiency and waste in the federal bureaucracy, and most of it is a *direct result* of ‘reforms’ that are meant to assuage the people who complain about “waste and inefficiency in govt”
for decades the federal govt has bent over backwards to limit spending even on totally sensible things like office coffee, all so they can say your tax dollars aren't going to pay for coffee. and it was all for nothing bc elon is tweeting out conspiracy theories about non-existent fraud.
