This account does not belong to a poet, education worker, or scholar. Who'd want to read Fugue & Strike (Black Ocean, 2023) & People Finder, Buffalo (Cloak, 2024) and etc? Garbage, labor obsessed.
continuing w/ David Grundy on poet John Wieners: few hundred copies of his groundbreaking, neglected State Capitol were destroyed in a firebombing of the queer publisher's office by laid-off firemen and cops. never formally charged but suspected as a hate crime that also served developers' interests

'talking shops' - Name that jawn:
The way out of parliamentarism is not[...]the abolition of representative institutions & the elective principle, but the conversion of the representative institutions from talking shops into “working” bodies.

i hate what my freelance & unemployed friends are going thru . not surprised institution modeled off house of lords treats brilliant humans as disposable . would humbly suggest that we not replace 8 senators but work to build to something better than antidemocratic people shredding law factories.

Trump Escalates Tyranny in Chicago
Having a common enemy sometimes unifies people, whether an unhoused Venezuelan migrant in Bronzeville or a mother in a South Shore apartment.

i dunno, to think that elections don't have a role to play in revolutionary politics means ignoring the history of...revolutions. we can also acknowledge the edge-melting assimilative force of the dem party. we'll see. the old calculus doesn't hold. i think we're gonna see more ruptures.

Why was Cheney such a fuck? Part of it: total war on Iraq killed hundreds of thousands of civilians either directly or through devastation of basic life sustaining infrastructure like sewage treatment plants. Total barbarism. Part of what Ali Kadri calls decades long war on Arab working classes.

Buffalo would use it to keep the Bills while Lovejoy burns to the ground
It's for the state government's collective ego. It makes people in power feel good (like they're doing something) to watch the fund increase without guidelines on when it can be leveraged to actually solve a problem.
Tennessee has a robust Rainy Day Fund. That fund won't be tapped to help tide people over until SNAP benefits resume. So the question has come up (again): what is the fund for? wpln.org/post/nashvil... @wpln.bsky.social

initial genocidal colonies in proto U.S. had multiple state sponsors. eventually, they became Britain's colonies. useful to think of Israel this way. when U.S. politician has flag of Israel in their office, they're just being honest: this IS our genocidal apartheid colony we sponsor by the billions

SNAP cuts also going to make people more reliant on employers, less willing to leave abusive/shit jobs and risk unemployment, and, if non-union, less willing to confront management . But if employer pays so low they're also on SNAP wondering if it'll create some increased wage demands
