Keir Starmer says he wants to establish facts by *watching Donald Trumps press conference.*

People said giving him a second state visit was a genius move of strategy - really seems to have paid off.

Special relationship - alive and kicking.

The PM and Foreign Secretary should be condemning this illegal strike and breach of international human rights law.

After years of arming a genocide and worshipping the “special relationship”, Trump now believes he can act with impunity.

Well, I for one thought the #Strangerthings finale was great, and I tip my writing hat to the Duffer brothers. What they did to make S1 such a perfect show is nigh on impossible but to then have the creative juice to stretch it into such an epic over 5 seasons is just extraordinary. Bravo.

Just to top off this end of year I spent three hours this morning on a teams speed awareness course for a ticket I got driving for the day job I continue to have to tolerate because I have to wait a year to hear back from commissioners.
Had a big fat no today from one of the major UK broadcasters, on a project they said they liked and were considering for 11 months. Of course I will move on but currently at the stage where I’m considering making it my life’s purpose to hunt them down for revenge.

Tragically clear that Trump hated Rob Reiner because he was everything he could never be. Funny, charming, decent, creative, emotionally & intellectually intelligent, kind, loving and loved. But most of all he envies the fact that Rob had a successful father who was happy for his son’s own triumphs

Marc Maron talking to Rob Reiner.
Reiner is extremely perceptive at 15.00 about why we mix with less people as we get older & nearer the end.
For me, anyway.
Great interview and nowhere near as sombre as it sounds.

As we mourn Rob Reiner, don’t skip this: he was, pretty much, personally responsible for overturning California’s Prop 8 banning same sex marriage.

Wicked For Good is epic. Sooo good. If pt1 was A New Hope then this is Empire & Return of the Jedi rolled into one. I have been changed… for good.

Just saw The Running Man and it was weirdly low octane. Just dragged a bit, and by Schwarzenegger’s triceps Glen Powell has zero charisma.

I keep saying it (and I would jump at the chance to write a Bond)… it’s really, really straightforward. You do exactly what they did with Lazenby, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan - cast a new actor and throw him into a new mission like he’s been there all along.

Watching The Running Man (1987) before seeing @edgarwright.bsky.social ‘s take tomorrow. Schwarzenegger’s stunt double is a great runner. Arnie himself not so much, but it remains a lot of fun.
