This is alarming and significant: the first sighting in Northern Ireland of the Asian hornet, a ferociously aggressive predator which decimates the bee population by mass attacks where it rips the heads off bees - which are crucial for pollination.

We have to trespass or climb high forbidding fences just to access what is on our doorstep. We want residents and visitors to be able to experience the beauty of our shoreline, to be able to enjoy and care for our environment and neighbourhood. Catastrophic damage is being done to our environment with lives, homes and farms being put at real risk.

Anyone with information that can bring those responsible for deliberately lighting malicious fires to justice should bring it immediately to the Police or CrimeStoppers.
