The only scholar who affected me as much as my academic advisors was Linda Williams. She rewired my brain during my PhD and made my entire career possible through her book “Hard Core.” She made the body central to film and media scholarship, a lesson I will not soon forget.

All of Linda Williams' books are incredible. I'm the millionth person to say something about "Film Bodies," but it's just one of those essays that cracks the world wide open the first time you read it. Lots of great scholars don't have one like that — Linda Williams had several. RIP.
Rest in Power Linda Williams. 💔 (1946-2025) This loss hangs heavy on my heart. Linda was a legend--inspiring feminist scholar, warm interlocutor always generous to students & newbies, and fierce/indomitable presence whose commitment made us all care more. I'm grateful to have known her!! ❤️😢

Muss sagen ich finde die Quellenarbeit von @maditaoeming.bsky.social in ihrem Buch "Porno: eine unverschämte Analyse" einfach so unglaublich gut. Ich habe nach etwas gesucht was ich beim ersten Lesen markiert und mir gemerkt habe und es ist einfach ein richtig gutes Rabbithole 🤩

Freunde, was auch heute geschehe: weiterkämpfen. Konkret werden, Verantwortungen übernehmen, wenn Kapazitäten da sind. Alle Posten, die Demokraten innehalten, können erst mal nicht von Faschos bekleidet werden. Politische Arbeit ist Basisarbeit, Gespräche und Aktivsein, Resignation hilft nicht.
