For me, this remains the most influential book of the 2020s.
It's a shame that David Graeber wasn't around to see its publication.

IMO, this book should be required reading in universites.

..Our book is an attempt to revive a dialogue between archaeology and anthropology, which has been dormant since the 1960s, and an invitation to think differently about the course of human history: an experiment, in which we hope many others will join us."

The U.S. came closer to nuclear disaster in 1983 than many realize, but the State Department recently deleted key records about it — even though they'd been online without damaging national security for years.

What history will be erased next?

Ted Koppel covering such an important story on Sunday AM network TV was not on my bingo card.

Author @brian-goldstone.bsky.social does an amazing job, giving an overview of the story he tells so well in his book "There is No Place For Us." (Link in next thread).

It's hard to express what it meant to watch Maurice, Natalia, Celeste, and Rhea tell their stories—in their own voices—this morning.

The segment revealed a brutal reality: homelessness at this scale isn't about personal failure. It's the result of policy choices and systems built to exploit people.

Oil companies are looking to the Supreme Court to rescue them from dozens of lawsuits. Recent financial disclosures from the justices show four of them have oily fingers, with past or present financial or familial ties to the industry. From @hannahstoryb.bsky.social:

Exxon’s Latest Supreme Court Hail Mary - The American Prospect
Oil companies insist that if cases are allowed to proceed, it could have major ramifications for the future of their industry. Will a Supreme Court willing to grant Trump immunity for his crimes do the same for Trump’s oil industry backers?
