Mud Ghost Estate is inspired by Hong Kong horror cinema, with Out of the Dark/回魂夜 being one of the influences. The film sees an exorcist attempting to drive out evil spirits at a public housing estate, being a mix of laugh out loud comedy and bone chilling horror.
