I plan to incorporate nutrition with patients by educating on balanced eating supported by evidence based research. I will guide them to find what works best for them and not have them falling for fad diets. I want them to slowly make changes in diet and not extreme ones. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

The fact that the medical cost for an obese adult is $1,429 higher than those of normal weight. A barrier to health eating that I face is lack of time to plan, shop, prepare and cook healthy foods. I am usually overwhelmed with work, so when the weekend comes and I need to prepare lunches I feel too tired or forget to. I usually bring whatever is in the house. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

A quick meal I make for lunch is a ham cheese sandwich on white bread. I will make this meal more nutrient dense by adding vegetables on it like lettuce. Switching white bread to whole grain bread will make it more nutrient dense. Adding apples as a side will help as well @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

My 24 hour food recall was accurate and easy because I try to plan out what I’m eating for the week. So I already have a good idea what I’m eating for all my meals. I wasn’t too surprised by my diet.
