I briefly wandered around my yard with my camera the other day, speed snapping pictures until the heat, fatigue, and pain ended my adventure. Almost didn’t see this little lonely one.

Part of what makes medical PTSD so painful for people experiencing chronic or complicated medical conditions is being at the mercy of doctors or others who often don't understand or believe what they are struggling w/ every day.

I often hear owls (not Great Horned), in the pines outside of my bedroom window. They’re chatty some nights.

Last year a fledgling spent a month+ in my neighbors yard, and I heard them nightly from my living room.

No pics 🤷‍♀️, but they showed up in my front door security videos, lol. Good Luck! 📷

Because of how my #ChronicIllness situation affects my body and brain, I can’t do groups anymore. Including holiday & family gatherings/meals. I’ve spent every holiday alone for over a decade. I mean, Hermit much? 🥴

But I’m glad that I have memories of The Kiddie Table AND of aging out of it, lol!😊

We’re sorry, but The Void is full of screams today, so please try these alternatives:
- headbutt the sea
- have a dance battle with squirrels
- write a bad Yelp review of the moon
- mutter obscenities into your soup bowl

Thank you! I’ll share the info from this thread with her, but she’s had many years and many opportunities to learn accurate info on ME/CFS, and that’s not what’s happening. I’ve been bringing her info for years, so it’s scary that I need to continue to protect myself. I plan on finding a new doctor.

This is very helpful advice and information that I can share with my doctor. I appreciate it so much. I was getting confused about some aspects of this situation, and hitting a wall cognitively with trying to work it out. I needed some information, advice, and clarity. Thank you!

I need advice please.

My doctor often ignores that I have #ME/CFS, and occasionally gives harmful recommendations.

We’re considering that I may have Autonomic Dysfunction, and she told me to research Graded Exercises for POTS.

Is this more bad advice for ME/CFS that I need to protect myself from?
For decades doctors, mental health professionals, and physical therapists have repeatedly told me to exercise, (and they still do). I did as I was told. It made my #ME/CFS permanently worse. Do No Harm?

I need a little reality break again, so I decided that this is my plan for Sunday.
I’m looking forward to spending all day on Saturday watching after school cartoons, Saturday morning cartoons, and cartoon specials from my childhood.

Just one day of checking out from real world crap to feel cozy in my colorful carefree nostalgic feelings. I need this in my life right now.

Flex Tape rocks though! It’s been keeping my toilet flushing and my small shower floor crack covered for a long time. I’m so glad it’s working until I can do replacements.

A stupid life lesson that I learned the hard way:

**Clear Flex Spray does NOT stay clear!** 🥴

It yellows 😡. Now I have some dumb looking “simple” home repairs. Leaky crack on my white shed and my white gutter? Now yellow spots showing where I fixed the leak, Argh!!!

Plus, some people on SNAP are unable to prepare, cook, and clean up meals due to illness/disability/limitations. Not everyone has the choice to not eat those types of foods.

People believe when you become disabled, support magically appears

Many of them think assistance is provided based on how sick you are

It doesn’t work like that

There’s very little support available. You don’t get more when you have a setback… you’re on your own

We need better social supports
