I made a starter pack for local Dane County news posters. If you want to know what's going on locally, here's a good place to start. bsky.app/starter-pack...
Ugh. As much as I complain about Micro$oft, I will say that Excel just works. ChatGPT does nothing to improve the program.

A really underrated part of this debate is how much of the left in Dane County has embraced YIMBY beliefs. That's lead to an era of cooperation between the left and builders/realtors in a way that is shocking if you've been around Dane County for a while (like I have).

This is a clear effort to overturn the 4th Amendment. Our elected officials need to treat this like the Constitutional crisis it is.
🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!

ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

One of the biggest problems with trying to improve or retrofit areas is that anything new is going to be very expensive. Not sure what to do about it because good redevelopment can help the City overall.
anyway I just want dive bars and local markets and affordable housing and I'm trying to be realistic about how to achieve that

What is wrong with the CapTimes opinion page? As someone who holds local office, this article is completely out of touch with reality.

America is the land of opportunity where people of any race can join the racist secret police force
How much more in your face can it be?

"Why are you asking me for my paperwork?"
"Because of your accent."
"You have an accent too."
"Where were you born sir?"
"Where were you born at?"
"Put your hands behind your back."

The city's legal strategy may reignite a debate over a Wisconsin law’s constitutionality. A former Oregon election official called the argument offensive.

The tragic death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year old mother fatally shot by ICE, shows that ICE can’t be reformed and must be abolished.

I’ll be introducing the Abolish ICE Act as a step toward justice, accountability, and humanity in our immigration policy.

Time to melt ICE.

Oh yes! I managed Tim Gruber's re-election campaign after he voted in favor of the Sequoya Commons. Can you guess what ward the Sequoya Commons was in? (It was ward 69 aka Westmorland). There was a huge backlash to this project.

Just make sure you're mad at the right people (aka the people with actual power) and if you need to take a break from social media, there's no harm in doing that. The problems will still be there when you log back on.

I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.
