I'm alive, but he's not.

First post of the year, a skeleton of the #Velociraptor mongoliensis, the most iconic of all raptors. This idea came from an edit I was making of a Scott Hartman skeleton for some friends on Discord, then I decided to play around with it more...

A *liiiitle* late to the party, but not as late as the finished piece will be: corpses of an adult Nanotyrannus and juvenile Tyrannosaurus washed together after a flood, similar in size but anatomically distinct. Very much a work in progress, lmk if anything looks especially disproportionate

If giant terrestrial archosaurs retained thick articular cartilage at large sizes, I wonder if this enhanced their locomotory performance compared to giant land mammals (that get thinner cartilage with ⬆️ size). An advantage of thick cartilage would be shock absorption.

open your little mouth and say AAAA

A #Tyrannosaurus rex uses its colorful mouth as a form of display, a bizarre rictus protrudes from its jaws displaying strong blue colors, while the inside of its green mouth breaks the contrast of the blue.

It's spring in the heart of Europe sometime in the Pleistocene, and a mother #Palaeoloxodon antiquus takes care of her baby after a winter, she began to exchange her winter coat for a thinner summer coat while her baby plays among the flowers always under her care.

#Tameryraptor markgrafi is a recently described carcharodontosaurid from the Bahariya Formation in Egypt. It features a peculiar structure on its nasal bone, which may have supported a crest during its lifetime. (1/2)

Deinosuchus' main prey would've been giant turtles, followed by fish, but it wouldn't have passed the chance on ambushing a clueless dinosaur (Like this Tyrannosauroid)

Morrison's #volcanoes

A young #Allosaurus fragilis wanders in the middle of an active volcanic crater, he passes next to a river of lava that lights up the night, beneath them the #moon shines with all its beauty.

The fact that most of us (speaking as a latino myself) don't usually learn in-depth about the majesty of south and mesoamerican pre-columbian cultures in school is depressing. Reading that Tenochtitlan had more people than Paris or London in the 1500's blew my mind as an adult.
“Inical, Initeocal in Huitzilopochtli”

The House and Temple of Huitzilopochtli - Commissioned by Trey the Explainer.

This is my interpretation of the sanctuary of Huitzilopochtli, one of two magnificent chapels that once crowned the Great Temple of Mexico-Tenochtitlan.
