DJ Kranic is a Vancouver based DJ who’s been part of a vicious smear campaign against a few accounts on Threads run by Black women. I tried talking to them about their behaviour and ended up having to block them. This is not ok. If you know them please tell them they’re dangerous to Black women!! 🤬

A message to progressive parties everywhere. If you want to get young people to actually go out and vote in urban areas, run younger candidates who promise a less car-centric city where rent is affordable.

I’m very pleased to now be on the board of directors for our neighbourhood house. I’ve been fairly involved with volunteering through Kits House in the past and can now expand my opportunity to help build community where I live. Their new annual report is out.

My daughter made these two ceramic pieces in high school and I love them so much. I used her Jack Skellington 🎃 as the model to carve one of our pumpkins yesterday. Halloween is my favourite.

I’m hosting a Halloween wine club tonight and I’m already exhausted. Pumpkins carved, flower arrangement made, pumpkin seeds roasted, pumpkin-shaped sourdough baked, wines chilling, wine note displays written out, bags of ice purchased. Now to clean up and finalize my costume. Then it’s nap time!! 🎃

I put out a call to my neighbourhood last weekend for items to help unhoused people in our city. So far I’ve been given five sleeping bags, four raincoats and a tent. I wish our city did more to help the housing crisis but our mayor is deep in the pockets of rich developers.

I really suggest that people learn what kettling is before they go to any protest and also spend a lot of time looking at the police to see if they are mobilizing for it. You can’t always avoid being kettled but you should really try to be aware of it.

Not drinking alone is my self-care. I’ve had an emotional week and I’ve been alone while my husband is in Nova Scotia. If I had been drinking I’d feel like shit right now. Instead I’ve had a very productive week. Even when my kids came for a long weekend lunch I bought a selection of 0% drinks.

Hubby is in Nova Scotia. I’ve ordered two party trays of sushi for tomorrow when the kids come over. Then on Monday friends are coming over and I’m making a vegetarian Persian stew and they’re bringing Persian nibbles. I really don’t mind not doing a traditional harvest feast this weekend.
