I’ll be selling some of my crochet pieces @rathartsupplies.bsky.social during their December pop-up. My son showed up for dinner with a box of cards and stickers he had made for me. He designed the logo and I love it so much. 🩷💀🖤

DJ Kranic is a Vancouver based DJ who’s been part of a vicious smear campaign against a few accounts on Threads run by Black women. I tried talking to them about their behaviour and ended up having to block them. This is not ok. If you know them please tell them they’re dangerous to Black women!! 🤬

Caught another cutie!

My daughter made these two ceramic pieces in high school and I love them so much. I used her Jack Skellington 🎃 as the model to carve one of our pumpkins yesterday. Halloween is my favourite.

Tell me you’re Canadian without telling me you’re Canadian.

Today’s looks great. I like the loaf as it’s good for sandwiches. Also my hand can grab it easily so I can slice it without risking a finger. But I do love the aesthetic of a traditional boule.

My loaf game has improved substantially. Absolutely love my cast iron loaf pan.

Getting the hang of making sourdough loaves shaped like pumpkins 🎃

Not drinking alone is my self-care. I’ve had an emotional week and I’ve been alone while my husband is in Nova Scotia. If I had been drinking I’d feel like shit right now. Instead I’ve had a very productive week. Even when my kids came for a long weekend lunch I bought a selection of 0% drinks.

Found all this fun yarn at a thrift store yesterday. Do I have room for yarn in my carry on suitcase? No. Will that stop me from squeezing it in there? Also no. Autumn is here and I’ve got some freehand crochet projects in mind. 🧶

If “moderates” need winning over I doubt a hairstyle is going to make a difference. You just sound ridiculous.

This person on IG thought it appropriate to make an “upbeat” cover of Billie Holiday’s Strange Fruit and post it to her 152K followers. Plenty of Black people have told her this is not ok. If you’re white I urge you to let her know why this is wrong. Account is kaisastreams

Learned a few things. Like cast iron isn’t as non stick as I thought. Despite mangling her a bit to get the sourdough loaf out of the pan I do love the uniformity of a sandwich shaped loaf. 🥪 🍞

If you ever get more garlic, then you can use right away, it’s very easy to peel by shaking the cloves between two bowls until the peels come off. Then you can pop it in a jar in the freezer to use as needed. 🧄

So easy, tasty and filling!

My corner Asian grocer is so well stocked. They had exactly the pastina (tiny pasta) that I was looking for. Stelline means, you guessed it, little stars.

A whole butternut squash gives it this golden colour. Already the flavour is so good with only salt added.

Making the soup for pastina in brodo aka Italian Penicillin. Freeze your parmigiano rinds and then use them in soups for extra umami. The green beans I’ve been growing are prolific so this is a great way to use them. All the veggies get puréed into the broth once they’re cooked.

You reminded me of a post I saw a couple of days ago. I need to get myself a “Fuck Off Ranger!” button. I organized a mini theme camp of Rangers at a regional and we called our camp “Part of the Problem” and someone made stickers.
