Was just in a furniture store looking for a new living room chair. Barrel. Glider. Small footprint. Was homing in on a nice one when a salesguy happened by & said, "It's a good chair, but you should know it's an American manufacturer" I jumped & made a face and now I'm getting one from 🇲🇽 instead.

Sitting in the Royal Alex in Toronto waiting for Come from Away to begin. You know, the play about that time 38 International flights were diverted to tiny Gander NFLD because there was a terrorist attack in NYC, and the whole town pitched in to help out. Seems like another time.e, now.

I feel so badly for these men, all three in different ratios; at this point, the least, and I mean the very least, we can do for them is to listen.

I've been doing a deep dive on Dr. Archibald Malloch after coming across the family cairn he had erected in 1897 in Brockville Cemetery. One rabbit hole leading to another, I find that he was a student & friend of Dr. Joseph Lister of "wash your hands before performing surgery!" fame.

About a month ago, I was having coffee with a friend just back from Turkey, where ahe was visiting family, and it suddenly occurred to me, thanks to my increasing anxiety about the then upcoming election in the States, to ask her some questions about 🇹🇷 's before & after times
