Freshly added to nigella.com, My Favourite Potato Salad is #RecipeOfTheDay! There’s no mayo, but a lot of zing, and I often slightly crush the potatoes, or break them with a fork, rather than halving them – but the important thing is that they’re steamed not boiled. www.nigella.com/recipes/my-f...
My Favourite Potato Salad
I call this My Favourite Potato Salad, as that is exactly what it is. I may be in the minority here, but what I think of as an American-style potato salad, slicked with mayo, sprinkled with raw onions...

BREAKING: Trump has paused tariffs for 90 days. Who could have seen this coming two days ago on Bluesky?
The best case scenario is that this is a stock shorting scheme, and in a week, there will be masterful (non-existent) "dealmaking" that removes the tariffs after the billionaires buy the dip causing a massive transfer of wealth.

That's the *best* case scenario.

I cannot overstate the importance of reading books, particularly novels by respected authors, for critical thinking skills and reading comprehension. If the big gun novelists don't interest you, start small and work your way up. Or read whatever interests you. Just read. Or listen. It's all books.

A glorious day to celebrate. April 9, 1865. The US defeated the army of the traitor slavers. Don’t let them keep lying about it. It was slavery. They proudly said it at the time. It was slavery.

Good riddance.

Tank the market with tariffs so rich people can buy low then “pause” the tariffs and all those people make vast sums of money?

Sometimes, when he fails badly enough, Trump can be forced to do the thing he says he never does: back down.

Today is just one more turn on the roller coaster - but it is more evidence of why we can't give up or let up.

I was reminded tonight how amazing the Laurel’s Kitchen cinnamuffin recipe is. Whole grain, vegan, and pretty low in fat but so good that omnivores make them just because they can.

I was reminded because one of my teens made them tonight. Life is good.

Chuck also has a full-time job.

I would consider buying Chuck’s book if he were doing that job, but he’s not.

Don’t be like Chuck.

And don’t buy Chuck’s book.
It gets worse. Schumer isn’t just going on a book tour—he’s charging for tickets.

Absolute insanity. While Americans are scared and in crisis mode, he’s basically saying, let them eat cake.

Firing federal workers and cutting public programs is going to end up costing us MORE, not less.
New data from the US Treasury reveals that federal spending was $603 billion in February, which is $36 billion HIGHER than February last year under Biden.

This suggests that DOGE has done nothing to cut spending.
