Take Dani’s word for it: I deliver careful, nuanced editing of smut for any and all species (even humans). I also edit non-smut fiction.

I do free sample edits, and I have openings for fall and winter. Check out czedits.com or direct message me here.
This level of nuance is why I’m proud to have you as my editor. You’re going to have fun with the cephalopod smut
I just almost gave a content warning for homophonic violence.

Thanks a lot, glide typing!

I replaced my dynamic insertion ad income (which included ICE ads, yuck) with Patreon pledges in 2 months. I promised to turn off dynamic ads permanently for every listener, and was honest about what I made from the dynamic ads.

Instead of ad-free episodes, it's dynamic ad free for all.
And if you're a podcast that is airing those ICE ads (and doesn't want them), talk to @smartbitches.bsky.social . She just ran a successful campaign to turn those insert ads off.

I want to make a list of *short stories* (any genre) published by intersex authors in 2025 & hopefully going forward. I've been meaning to do this for a while, and I think now there are plenty of stories.

If you have some stories, let me know / if not, please repost to spread the word?

Thank you!

A smile played across Jake’s lips. ‘Why do you think I moved in with you?’

‘I can think of a number of reasons,’ Addison said, one eyebrow raised.

I just read and loved A Case of Life and Limb by Sally Smith. Please hit me with your top recs for historical mystery novels set in 1500 or later, available in audiobook, preferably not fantasy.

I love KJ Charles, CJ Sansom, Bruce Alexander, and Jonathan Dunsky, to give you some idea of my tastes.

You talking about my books, or the books of any author you love, goes exponentially further than that author talking about their own books, especially on social media where your posts can go viral

I mean. Remember Bigolas Dickolas?
FWIW: Mention books you like or you think others might like. You never know what'll happen:

I saw The Sad Bastard Cookbook here so I mentioned it on Masto (in a "in case you need this" sense). It kinda went viral (1K shares). It jumped to a high ranking on Amazon and then they got media attention.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

TIL:

1) The OED does not yet (yeet?) have an entry for “yeet” in the modern slang sense.

2) It does have entries for two much older senses: as a synonym for “yet” and as a verb meaning to address someone as “ye” rather than “thou.”

2a) “Thowt” meant to address someone as “thou.”

I was having trouble finding kosher turkey parts, and we're only going to be 3 people for T-day dinner, so I bought a whole one and split it up. Now I have neatly labeled legs, breasts, and wings in the freezer and the carcass roasting for stock.

It's my first time, and I feel very accomplished.

“America is not experiencing a realignment as much as it is going through a de-alignment of the established order.”

That’s what scares me. I tend to believe that this, too, shall pass, but what in heaven’s name will be next? Anything that’s not just chaos?
However, both major parties are vastly unpopular, and trust in established institutions has been declining massively.

America is not experiencing a realignment as much as it is going through a de-alignment of the established order.
