Drivers stop at crosswalks in Poland now because they passed presumed liability, and they ran a public awareness campaign to promote it. The driver is presumed to be at fault if they hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
The zebra stripes in Poland have magical power that the ones in America don’t. Even on a fast divided highway, a pedestrian in the shadows, well back from the curb, can stop traffic.

Bike mechanics want the government to recognize the job as a distinct profession and skilled trade.
Right now, they're officially grouped with workers who repair accordions, jukeboxes and the safety valves on pipelines.

What you and 2 wheel view do are huge, but we have to normalize kids getting around at a younger age, and bike bus does that. There are challenges but we have to start.
My kids walked or biked to school and as adults "drive" is not their first thought. We need more people growing up with that.

this is very true. And to be frank, we NEED people of means and ability to be leaders.
Change starts with those who have power. A very smart person once explained to me that this is why us settlers HAVE to speak for Indigenous rights, why we have to be vocally anti-racist etc.

Bike Bus isn't THE solution. It's not even the long term solution, IMO. Bike Bus & Kidical Mass both highlight the need for safe routes to school. For me, the bigger picture is normalizing kids walking & biking ON THEIR OWN so alarm bells don't go off every time you see a kid using these skills.
