Working as a librarian and with a spouse who works in public health, one of the many bizarro changes in recent years is seeing our professions subjected to suspicion and attack.

Trump/Musk and the entire GOP has spent the last four months systematically liquidating disease cure research in the United States. Lots of critical cure studies shuttered mid-way through. Research shutdown everywhere. It's all hands on deck to prevent new treatments for cancer, ahlzeimers etc.

I talk about engaging rural folks because I know there is opportunity in rural spaces. If Democrats will just spend time and resources there…if we build the infrastructure in the off years, we can win. We don’t have to flip rural districts— just get 5% more rural folks to vote for Dems. Then we win.
