Apparatus of the dreaded Deep State. Went from Republican to independent to Democrat to some kind of Socialist (not yours) between 2012 and 2022, but always, ALWAYS hated a fascist.
It's clear that Hegseth is trying to emulate the speech from "Patton," which is funny because Patton would have challenged him to a duel months ago (and then shot him).

And George C. Scott didn't even show up to get his Oscar, no way he'd put up with getting summoned to this bullshit

Nah, he deserved worse. We hanged Streicher.
Charlie Kirk deserved it

Buddy at USDA tells me three people in his agency have died the past couple of months, one of whom was murdered. And there's a memorial in the HQ lobby.

For Charlie Kirk.

People from all over are showing up for DC. This is not a moment. It’s a movement. We are united in our demands. We are all DC! #FreeDC

We all agree Congress needs to claw back and exercise powers it has ceded to the President. But I submit to you that the bureaucracy also needs to be empowered, if only by giving them the same political speech rights afforded everyone else in this country. The Hatch Act clearly doesn't apply to
Host: There are new calls this morning for RFK Jr.'s resignation, and those calls coming from inside HHS itself. More than 1,000 current and former HHS workers are making this demand in a letter released this morning. They say his leadership has "put the health of all Americans at risk"

The president said that “people that live in the inner city” won’t do the work.

“We’ve tried, Everybody’s tried. They don’t do it. [Migrants] do it naturally. Naturally,” Trump said.
Trump teases new policy for migrant farm labor
Officials are debating how to placate farmers’ need for migrant labor without appearing to offer amnesty to undocumented immigrants.

This is an excellent list of good, accurate reasons to detest France. "Cheese eating surrender-monkeys" may be evergreen but the appalling approach to their former colonies has been what animated my loathing for the country since I lived in one.
hey let's not get too in love with the country that still economically controls a bunch of west Africa as a colony and kept nuking pacific Islands into the 1990s

This is both accurate and important. At least, it was important in explaining my own conservatism as a young man. I took personally every history reference portraying my ancestors as the bad guys, and as a result I was opposed to anything associated with those tellings of history. /1
“My ancestors rocked actually” is one of the most powerful instincts embedded in the human psyche

In case you're wondering what Fox News is covering on Trump's 100th day in office.

it doesn't matter if the CR was bad or anywhere near good; as long as lawlessnes reigns supreme in Washington you don't vote for a single GOP bill or a single GOP nominee, why is this so fuckin' hard to understand

They'll slash some animal welfare regs, which won't help (may hurt) but which is more palatable to industry than vaccinating, which would help eggs but tank poultry exports. But mostly they're going to blow a bunch of money on performative nonsense and hope the problem just goes away on its own.
Rollins: "The Biden team basically depopulated about 150m egg laying hens last year, which is the protocol. We're looking at the protocol now to see how to tweak it so that hopefully we don't have to do that moving forward. But we rolled out a 5 point plan a week ago. It includes deregulation."

@raskin.house.gov Elon Musk tweeted today that USAID funded the creation of covid-19 and called it a "pit of vipers" that "needs to die." That kind of rhetoric can get USAID employees killed. Trump is doing awful damage but Musk needs to be stopped. Would love to see more from you on this.
